Camping
Camping opportunities are offered at the following state and county
parks:
Cathedral Pines County Park General campsites for tents and trailers
are available with full sanitary facilities. Youth groups and club
camping areas are available on a reservation basis only. Ten sites
are equipped with electric hookups. Located on Yaphank-Middle Island
Road in Middle Island.
Sears Bellows County Park offers a number of recreational activities
for campers. The park contains 40 trailer sites and 30 tent sites
accompanied by sanitary facilities. Youth group and club camping
areas are available by permit only. Follow Route 24 to
Bellows Pond Road. Park entrance is on the right.
Indian Island County Park in Riverhead offers 275 acres of scenic
beauty for individual and group campers to enjoy. Tent and camper
sites are available as well as restrooms and shower facilities.
Located off of Route 105 in Riverhead.
Shinnecock East County Park offers campers a unique camping
experience on this beautiful barrier beach. Self-contained campers
only, no tents are permitted on the beach. A valid Suffolk County
Parks Green Key Card is required to utilize the park's 100 campsites.
Turn right on Halsey Neck Road off of Montauk Highway. Turn right
heading west on Dune Road in Southampton.
Southaven County Park The Carmans River flows through a
tranquil pine-oak forest and is a popular park for camping in both tents
and campers. Boating and freshwater fishing are permitted. Located
off of Victory Avenue in Brookhaven.
Meschutt Beach County Park Camping opportunities limited to
self-contained trailers and campers only. Meschutt Beach is a
still-water, supervised bathing beach located on the Great Peconic Bay.
Located on Canal Road and Old North Highway in Hampton Bays.
