Moonshot!

On Thursday, October 19th 2017, the Society hosted its 40th Anniversary Environmental Awards Gala at the magnificent Oheka Castle in Huntington.  Hundreds of Long Islands leaders from business, government, non-profit and environmental organizations joined us in saluting our distinguished honorees.

This year's theme was "Moonshot" as we celebrated our 40th anniversary and our commitment to achieving Long Island's moonshot of improving Long Island's water quality.  We honored State Senators John Flanagan, Kemp Hannon and Elaine Phillips; the Pine Barrens Society Founders; and the Founders of the Long Island Clean Water Partnership.

Our committee always brings together Long Island leaders from every walk of life.  This year, our Honorary Chairman was Alec Baldwin- actor, environmentalist and long time supporter of open space preservation on Long Island.  Our Committee Co-Chairs were Ross Ain of Caithness Long Island, Nancy Rauch Douzinas of the Rauch Foundation, Gary Melius of Oheka Castle, Michael Pascucci of Sebonack and Allan Rose of AVR Realty.
