This year's theme "Save What's Left" recognizes the urgency needed to preserve our remaining open spaces before final build-out is reached on Long Island.

Each October, LIPBS produces its Annual Anniversary Awards Gala to honor those who have made an “Outstanding Contribution to Long Island’s Environment.”  The festive and tasteful evening is a major social event on Long Island and helps raise the funds needed to advance the Society’s agenda of environmental education and advocacy.

Organizations and individuals participate in the gala through sponsorship, ticket sales, journal advertising and a silent auction.  The Dinner/Dance features gourmet dining and top entertainment.  Past honorees have included notable environmentalists, business leaders and government officials who have contributed to Long Island’s environmental quality.

Save the Date!

On Wednesday October 13 , 2010 the Society will host its 33rd Anniversary  Environmental Awards Gala at magnificent Oheka Castle in Huntington.

Gala guests will feast on a gourmet dinner and dance to the music of the Denice Given Band.  There will be a special tribute to the honorees and a short, but entertaining program. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction for a variety of special packages.
