On Thursday October 20, 2011 the Society hosted its 34th Anniversary  Environmental Awards Gala at magnificent Oheka Castle in Huntington.

Each October, LIPBS produces its Annual Anniversary Awards Gala to honor those who have made an “Outstanding Contribution to Long Island’s Environment.”  The festive and tasteful evening is a major social event on Long Island and helps raise the funds needed to advance the Society’s agenda of environmental education and advocacy.

Organizations and individuals participate in the gala through sponsorship, ticket sales, journal advertising and a silent auction.  The Dinner/Dance features gourmet dining and top live entertainment.  Past honorees have included notable environmentalists, business leaders and government officials who have contributed to Long Island’s environmental quality.
