Guided Hike: Pleasure From Both Sides (LI Greenbelt)

This hike is hosted by the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference.

About 13 miles | Fast | Varied

An out-and-back on the Pine Barrens trail, with the delightfully unkempt blue loop between the halves. Bring water and snacks. PLEASE BRING A MASK (optional while we hike, but a must if we pass other folks on the trail). Treat your clothing and your body against ticks. Meet at Spinney Road (north end) parking area; from L.I.E. Exit 71, at foot of exit, turn right onto C.R.24; stay on 24 straight through the traffic circle in Riverhead, head for Hampton Bays; Spinney Road will be on the right, about eight miles from the Expressway. Inclement weather cancels, so call or text to be sure. Fast pace, only one quick stop for snacks!
