Guided Hike: Three Ponds and a Swamp (LI Greenbelt)

It’s likely to be a warm day even under the shady canopy of the Flanders Woods, and then we’ll boil our blood on the dreaded three miles of sand—so bring plenty of water and perseverance; meet at Spinney Road (north end) parking area; from L.I.E. Exit 71, at foot of exit, turn right onto C.R.24; stay on 24 straight through the traffic circle in Riverhead, head for Hampton Bays; Spinney Road will be on the right, about eight miles from the Expressway; fast pace, only one quick stop for snacks; inclement weather cancels, so call or text to be sure!
