There are many reptiles and amphibians that call the Long Island Pine Barrens home, some of which are rare and endangered! Learn more about these species, their importance and protection, with this guided hike by herpetologist and wildlife photographer, Alex Roukis. We will be on the lookout for several species and hope to be lucky enough to find some in the wild.

We will be touring Swezey Pond within the Cranberry Bog Nature Preserve. The hike is just less than a mile and appropriate for children and adults alike.

Pre-registration is required – please purchase tickets ($6/hiker) hereOnce booked, we are unable to offer refunds unless in the event of rain cancellation.

Social distancing and masks (when “gathered around”) will be required. Inclement weather cancels the hike – registrants will be informed via email and refunded.
