For four decades, the Pine Barrens Society’s has worked on countless issues affecting the Long Island Pine Barrens, but our principle function has remained the same: educating the public on the ecosystems of the Pine Barrens. The more that people know about the Pine Barrens, the more they appreciate them — and the stronger their commitment to preservation. We involve the public through lectures, hikes, contests and special programs. We publish an informative newsletter two times-a-year, and produce a monthly 30-minute television program that covers current environmental topics.
