Let’s go farther east to enjoy an awesome hike along varied trails in Quogue Wildlife Refuge and explore diverse habitats including forests and ponds, as well as the ecologically rare Dwarf Pines in the Pine Barrens; visit a nature preserve that is home to diverse wildlife including owls, falcons, hawks and other native New York animals; optional drop out at 4.5 miles; after Quogue we will drive 5.8 miles to Sears Bellows Park; bring lunch and a chair for a lunch break by Bellows Pond before second hike; rain or snow cancels; from NY 27 Exit 64, go south on C.R. 104 to Old Country Rd., then right to Quogue Refuge; if lot is full, park across road; hike leaves promptly at 10:10 AM; free parking; limited to members only.
